If your ROV has Zinc anodes, the whole frame is electrically “active.”
- The Problem: The cathodic protection system generates hydrogen ions at the metal surface. If the rubber bond is weak, this gas pressure will “blow” the rubber off the metal, causing leakage.
- Our Solution: We use a two-step primer system and sandblast the metal to SA 2.5 standard to increase surface area.
- Result: Our bond strength exceeds the tear strength of the rubber itself (i.e., the rubber will tear before it peels off the metal).
