What standard materials are used for HYSF connector shells?

Our standard connector shells are machined from AISI 316L Stainless Steel, which offers an excellent balance of strength and corrosion resistance for most subsea applications. For specialized environments, we also offer Titanium (Grade 2/5), Marine Bronze (C63000), and Hard-Anodized Aluminum (7075-T6).

Material selection is the first line of defense against the ocean.

  • 316L Stainless Steel: The “L” stands for Low Carbon, which improves welding characteristics and resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is the industry standard for general ROV use.
  • Titanium: Used for deep-sea (>3,000m) or permanent installations where zero corrosion is required.
  • Marine Bronze: Used where biofouling resistance is needed (e.g., shallow water sensors).
  • Hard Anodized Aluminum: Used for lightweight, portable, or shallow-water inspection class ROVs to save weight.
