Depth ratings indicate maximum operating pressure. 300m (30 bar) suits shallow ROV work, 500m (50 bar) for mid-depth operations, 1000m (100 bar) for deep sea. Higher ratings cost more but provide safety margin.
Depth Rating Comparison
| Rating | Tryk | Typical Applications | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300m | 30 bar / 435 PSI | Shallow ROV, aquaculture, diving | $ |
| 500m | 50 bar / 725 PSI | Mid-depth survey, inspection | $$ |
| 1000m | 100 bar / 1450 PSI | Deep sea, AUV, scientific | $$$ |
| 2000m+ | 200+ bar / 2900+ PSI | Hadal zone, specialized | $$$$ |
How to Choose the Right Rating
Add a 20-30% safety margin to your maximum operating depth:
- Working at 200m? Choose 300m rating
- Working at 400m? Choose 500m rating
- Working at 800m? Choose 1000m rating
Anbefaling
When in doubt, choose the next higher rating. The cost difference is usually 15-25%, but the peace of mind and reliability are worth it. For critical applications, never operate at more than 80% of rated depth.
