Do you design connectors for Extreme Temperatures (Cryogenic/Geothermal)?

Standard connectors operate between -4°C and +60°C. For extreme environments, such as LNG (Cryogenic) or Geothermal Boreholes (High Heat), HYSF engineers custom solutions using specialized elastomers like Viton (FKM) for heat (up to 200°C) or Silicone blends for extreme cold, along with thermally stable PEEK insulators.

Temperature extremes cause standard rubber to fail (crack or melt).

  • High Heat: For downhole tools, we utilize High-Temp Epoxy and FKM O-rings that resist degradation at temperatures exceeding 150°C.
  • Extreme Cold: For polar or cryogenic applications, we use materials that remain flexible and do not become brittle at -40°C or lower.
  • Thermal Expansion: Our engineers calculate the thermal expansion coefficients (CTE) of the metal and plastic to ensure the seal holds even when the materials expand/contract at different rates.
