Is the IP Rating IP68 or IP69K?

HYSF deep-sea connectors exceed standard IP68 ratings. While IP68 typically defines submersion beyond 1 meter, our connectors are rated for 60 MPa, which equals 6,000 meters of depth. They are effectively “Subsea Rated”, which is a far more rigorous standard than commercial IP68 or IP69K.

“IP68” is a vague commercial standard. HYSF works to oceanographic standards.

  • The Difference: An IP68 watch might survive a swimming pool. A HYSF connector survives the crushing pressure of the Abyssal zone.
  • Testing: Our 100MPa High-Pressure Pump testing ensures that the seals do not deform or extrude under extreme hydrostatic pressure.
  • Application: Suitable for permanent immersion, not just temporary submersion.
