What is HYSF’s role in Wave and Tidal Energy?

Renewable marine energy is a growing sector. HYSF supplies heavy-duty interconnects for Wave Energy Converters (WECs) and Tidal Turbines. These connectors handle the dynamic power export cables that are constantly flexing with the motion of the waves.

This is one of the most mechanically demanding applications.

  • Dynamic Stress: The connector and cable interface must withstand millions of flex cycles. Our High-Temperature Vulcanization prevents the cable from pulling out of the connector body under tension.
  • Corrosion: Tidal sites are highly oxygenated and corrosive. We recommend Titanium shells for these permanent installations to ensure a 20-year lifespan.
  • Biofouling: We offer anti-fouling compatible materials to prevent marine growth from jamming the locking sleeves.
