What wire gauge (AWG) is used in the pigtails?

The standard wire gauge depends on the connector size and current rating.Micro Series (Signal): Typically uses 20 AWG or 22 AWG teflon-insulated wires (0.5 mm²).Standard Series (Power): Uses 16 AWG or 14 AWG (1.5 – 2.5 mm²) for higher current contacts (up to 25A).High Power: We use 10 AWG or larger for 60A+ applications.

Correct wire sizing is a balance between flexibility and current capacity.

  • Teflon (PTFE) Insulation: We often use PTFE for the inner wire insulation because of its excellent thermal and dielectric properties.
  • Customization: If you need a specific wire gauge (e.g., 18 AWG for a long voltage drop compensation), we can customize the pigtail during the molding process as part of our Custom Engineering service.
  • Color Code: We follow industry-standard color coding (e.g., Black/White/Green) and provide a pinout diagram with every datasheet.
