A watertight seal relies heavily on the interface between the bulkhead connector and your equipment housing.
- Clearance Hole: The hole should be large enough to pass the connector shank but small enough to support the O-ring compression.
- Surface Finish: The “Sealing Face” (where the O-ring sits) must be smooth. Scratches or burrs here create leak paths.
- Chamfer: We recommend a slight 0.5mm x 45° chamfer on the hole edge to help the O-ring seat properly and prevent cutting during installation.
- Tapped Holes: If screwing directly into a threaded hull, the thread class should be 2B (Imperial) or 6H (Metric) to ensure proper engagement.
