Are Locking Sleeves required for operation?

While the connectors rely on friction for retention, we strongly recommend using Locking Sleeves (Locking Collars) for all dynamic or critical applications. They mechanically secure the mated pair, preventing accidental disconnection due to vibration, cable dragging, or thermal expansion.

Secure connections save missions.

  • Vibration: ROV thrusters generate significant vibration that can slowly “walk” a connector out of its socket.
  • Types: We offer standard POM (Delrin) sleeves for general use and Stainless Steel sleeves for high-impact protection.
  • Snap Ring: Ensure the snap ring is correctly seated on the metal shell groove to give the locking sleeve a solid anchor point.
