What is the rated mating cycle life (Durability)?

HYSF connectors are rated for ≥ 500 mating cycles. This durability rating assumes the connectors are mated and unmated in a clean environment (or properly lubricated) and aligned correctly. This lifespan meets or exceeds the industry standard for rubber-molded wet-mateable connectors.

Durability is key for operational efficiency.

  • Design: The resilience of our Neoprene/PUR rubber allows the socket to expand and contract repeatedly without losing its sealing memory.
  • Maintenance: To achieve the full 500+ cycles, we recommend applying a thin layer of Molykote 44 Medium (or equivalent dielectric grease) to the sealing surfaces before each use.
  • Wear: The contacts are made of high-strength Brass or Beryllium Copper to resist mechanical wear during insertion.
